Anyone have a Legends? I ordered one and interested in other buyers and their comments or problems. We will be going full time in 2008. (Waiting on wife to retire) Anything posted will be appreciated.

We purchased a 2007 Legends 29mk3slf in June. Other than what is covered in for "New Legends owners" on another post, we are very pleased with the 5ver so far. We have been using it on week at a time trips to the Lake Tahoe California area, Sierra Mountains, which is about 6,000 feet. We pull with a 2006 Ford 350 Powerstroke and the couple handel very well in the mountain areas.
We dry camp with a Kipor 3000ti (Formarly called the 3500ti) generator and it will run the upgraded AC and other appliances well. I don't run the Microwave at the same time (:-}). Holding tanks for dry camping will last us nine or more days, while at the same time we will need to fill fresh water at least twice. With full hookups we don't miss anything other than washers and dryer, but that is only a minor thing with us. Happy Camping. We look forward to seeing more on Legends on these posts as more get on the road. Zeb & Ellen ZebPet

Thanks for the comeback. I too hope more owners get on. This is a great way for everyone to stay up dated on everything to do with our campers.

Hi Danzrebel,
Just noticed your post, darn work gets in the way of playing. My wife and I purchased a 2007 31RE3SLF in March of this year. Although we have had a couple of minor problems (had to have a slide adjusted, shower door leaked initially), and a not so minor problem (previously mentioned bike rack failure), overall we are still very pleased with the unit and how it operates. The folks at Pilgrim have been very good to work with as well. One other thing, you might double check the labels on the tank dump handles. Mine were not correct, so initially I was not dumping in the "preferred" order. Also, although this is a larger trailer (by about 3-4 feet) than I had intended to pull, I have been impressed with the stability on the highway. Hope you enjoy yours as much as we have ours. Cheers, Mac McCalla |

Thanks Mac for the input. I guess there are at least 3 of us out here now. Mine should be here next Friday and will pick it up the 8th or 9th of Aug. Don't let thst work interfere too severely with play time.LOL

We just purchased a 2007 Legends 31RE3SLF about 2 1/2 weeks ago. We went camping in it the last 2 weekends, really like it. We have a minor leak around the shower door also. Will wait for awhile to see if anything else needs repaired before we go back to the dealer. Which model Legends did you order? We would have loved to go to the Rally but having just bought the camper, not enough time to arrange the trip, hoping to go next year for sure. Hope you enjoy your new Legends.

Hi Folks,
Our shower door leak turned out to be the inside edge where the glass goes into the door frame. Sealed it with silicone and that took care of it. The dealer had caulked all other interior joints inside the shower already during our first trip back for minor fixes. Hope this helps. We currently own a 05 Pilgrim, but in a couple of years (need a new truck first) are considering the legend with the 3 slides (the 29 foot) one. Our question is can you get all the way through the trailer (to the back) with all the slides in?

We have the 29mk3slf and no you can't get to the livingroom with the sides shut. You can get to the Bedroom and Toliet room though which is all we need. The rest of the time if we want to go to the refer or the livingroom on a quick stop while on the road, we open it a foot or so. It has not been a problem. The counter space in the kitchen and overall room we get when setup, is well worth any small inconvienence this caused. We constantly get visitors in camps walking up to us and wanting to know about and see the unit. We wouldn't change our decision to buy this model.

We picked up our Legends yesterday (8/10/06) and we are very pleased with everything about it. It pulls very nicely and everything seems to work fine. They did take the pistons off the storage access doors because of so many ripped out mounts. Small thing to me.LOL Was surprised about how heavy it seemed to be but going from a 6000 lb TT to it was a drastic jump. Bike mount was not on it but was promised it would be shipped to them and installed. Will post as needed to keep all informed.

Thanks for the feedback. Now that you mention it, the pistons on the side storage doors are pretty beefy. I guess I'm lucky I just naturally hold on to the door as it opens and so I haven't had a problem with the mounts.

I finally took my 31RE3SLF camping this weekend. Really enjoyed it but..... my drain handles were wrong also. On mine the very first one is actually the sewage but labeled wastewater. Is this the standard? (labeling wrong.)
Only other problems were toilet seat loose(2 mins to fix) shower has small leak(silicon should fix) bathroom sink loose.(not sure yet how to remedy that). But all in all we loved it!!!! Canceled bike rack install since Bonnie got Fri and Sat off. Go while the goings good. Dan and Bonnie |

Same small stuff. Dealer tightened and sealed the sink (from under the cabinet). Labels are on order. Check your tv & sat labels too.

We just purchased a 31RE3SLF-5 and will be picking it up this Saturday! Have to move everything out of the 05 Sunnybrook 2750 and then be ready to go!
Wondered if you all found any problems other than the leading shower? I read about that, as well as mislabeled dump valves and have gone over those 2 with the dealer so I hope we won't have to address those! Going straight to the NC mountains after we pick it up Saturday had have a VERY thorough walk thru. Ansley & Susie Kerry The Silkie 2005 Dodge 2500 Desiel Quad Cab 2007 Legends 31RE3SLF |

Ansley and Susie,
Congratulations on your new Legends. We purchased the same model 2 months ago. We have found a few minor things that need fixed, but overall are very pleased with the unit. Two of the shades don't pull down all the way and expose about 2 inches of window at the bottom of the window, there is a squeak in the floor in front of the recliners and the screen door is bowed at the top. We will make a list of everything that needs fixed and take it back to the dealer in a couple months. But overall, we are real happy with it. Just curious, did your unit come with a hitch receiver for a bike rack? Initially, the dealer told us ours did, then told us it didn't. The sales rep at Pilgrim told me they have had so much trouble with the receivers that they no longer put them on the fifth wheels. Just wonder if everyone else is getting the same story as me on the hitches. Sure would be nice to have one for the bikes. Hope you enjoy your new camper and your trip to the NC mountains. Re: Legends | ||

We have the receiver. The problem is that the metal used between the frame and the receiver bar is too thin. It would not hold the weight of the bikes and broke loose within 200 miles the first time, dragging the bikes, and after the dealer welded it up, it broke lose again within 50 miles. We are currently waiting for replacement metal. Sure would be nice to have a strong receiver as this is one of the reasons I went for this model.
Read from the top of this topic and read for new Legends owners for more info. I am also considering installing a rear view camera, as even if it holds this time I won't trust it. For now my bikes are in the truck. ZebPet

Zebpet,
I'm taking mine to the dealer Monday 9/25 to get the bike rack put on. Is there something I should look for before I leave there? Also getting the few warranty issues fixed. Dan and Bonnie Legends 31RE3SLF |

I took mine in today to have the metal reworked. These new metal parts are coming from Pilgrim. Hope the metal is thicker. ZebPet

Re: Legends | ||

We bought a 2007 31RE3SLF-5 in February of this year. As mention earlier in a post, I had to get to used it being heavier. (Previous was TT @ ~6500#)
A friend told me I'd love towing a 5er and he is right - A lot more stable. It is interesting for me to read this post. Since the last post b4 this one was in September, I find it 'strange,' if I can use that word, that some of the same things are wrong with our trailer. (Shower leaks, bathroom sink is loose, dump valve labels are in the wrong place) We have a couple more that I'm sure the dealer will be able to fix. 1. Our kitchen sink has very low pressure. 2. Shower head doesn't turn off all the way. 3. With the livingroom slide closed, the main floor right behind the fridge by the dinette gets wet when it rains. after a storm usually have to put the slide out and run a fan to dry the carpet. We love the room (our TT didn't have any slides) with 3 slides. We like the quality so far too! 2001 Ford F350 PSD CC LB 4x4

Hello 31REHauler. Welcome to the Pilgrim site. Apparently a lot of folfs hibernate and don't add much to this forum. WAKE UP FOLKS!
I agree that its strange that the same old problems continue with the Legends. When I got mine I was "jumped" by a few people on this forum for such minor faults. An employee of Pilgrim was even on here supposedly "monitoring the problems and would take them to the weekly meetings at Pilgrim. What happened Joel? Problems still here. Anyway welcome aboard.
